The Diabetes National Alliance was recently launched by Sanofi-Aventis in the U.S. to “provide healthcare professionals with information on the standard of care for people living with diabetes”. Cool – we think it’s time that doctors & health care pros work collaboratively toward standards of care and keep up with diabetes technology! DNA targets mostly primary care physicians with education and awareness of available practices.
Bottom line, we’re glad primary care
professionals are getting an update in their education since many people with
diabetes don’t have access to an endocrinologist for regular visits. DNA is
supposed to share up-to-date information with primary care providers, and we’re
hopeful that they will live up to this promise. DNA will provide a series of
“hands on” workshops with a case-based format for physicians, CDEs, nurses, and
dieticians. Awesome – knowledge is power.
