We talk a lot about how diabetes really hit the mainstream in 2005 and it hasn't stopped - but today we saw yet another new tier of visibility. A comic strip in Sunday's (April 2) Washington Post - Mark Trail by Jack Elrod - made reference to the gila monster and therapies for type 2 diabetes. The comic is ahead of its time, as it basically forecasted incretins becoming stand-alone treatment for type 2 diabetes. Fascinating!
